Research Skills for Developing Writers: Summary & Additional Resources

An introductory guide to help multilingual undergraduate writers at the U develop their research skills.

Summary

Databases, like CQ Researcher and Academic Search Premier, are excellent resources to find periodicals.  They share many of the same functions as the MLIB catalog including: searching using keywords or subject terms, refining your search by publication date or source type, and being able to set up an account with EBSCOHost so that you can log-in and save the article that you find.  If you every need to narrow or broaden your search, you can use Boolean operators to combine or eliminate search terms from your results.
