How Do I Participate?
Three easy steps:
Determine your publishers' "color." Use the SHERPA/RoMEO database to look up the details of a journal's policy.
If your publisher is green or blue, move to step 3. These publishers will be in line with a U of U open research policy and nothing will need to be done with the copyright transfer agreement in order to comply.
If your publisher is yellow or white, move to step 2. These publishers don't automatically allow for posting on the web and faculty will need to sign and attach an addendum in order to keep the necessary copyrights.
If your publisher isn't listed, contact 1) Marriott Library - Allyson Mower, Scholarly Communications & Copyright Librarian, email@example.com or 2) Eccles Library - Jean Shipman, Director, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Amend the Copyright Transfer Agreement.
Addenda can automatically be generated via http://scholars.sciencecommons.org/ This can also be done by contacting 1) Marriott Library - Allyson Mower, Scholarly Communications & Copyright Librarian, email@example.com or 2) Eccles Library - Jean Shipman, Director, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Provide the file.
Upload the final, peer-reviewed manuscript plus any related material (if desired) to USpace via the Faculty Activity Report/Find-a-Researcher or directly to USpace. What's the final, peer-reviewed manuscript? Check out the box in the upper left corner of this page to see an example.
