Reference assistance is available Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. You can call the reference phone at (801) 581-6184 but please do not leave a message. If you do not reach a librarian, try calling back another time. You can also email the Reference Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What types of questions can you ask?
Reference service is available to assist with questions about the collection, to help find a specific item, or to set up a research strategy. We cannot provide legal advice, nor are we able to conduct research for you. Much legal research can be done online. Reference librarians are available to give help and instruction in how to use online sources. Training in areas requiring extra research skill such as legislative histories, administrative law, and international law is also available, though we recommend setting up an appointment in advance when possible.
There are no on-site services for attorneys or public patrons during the Spring semester. This means that public computers are not available, nor is the Reading Room. Interlibrary loan for attorneys will not be available. We apologize for the inconvenience.
SJ Quinney Alumni can get access to HeinOnline's Law Journal Library from their home or office after creating an account. If you are interested, please request login information by sending an email and including your name, email address, and year of graduation. Hein's Law Journal Library has a full run of over 2600 law reviews and legal journals.
If you need to access select pages from an item which does not circulate, you may submit a request to our Reference Desk and we will try to email a scan of those pages to you. Please note that you must know what specific section(s) or pages you need, requests must be fewer than 30 pages, and delivery time may be up to 7 Business Days. This service may be restricted if demand becomes too great.
