Definitions:

  • Be aware that the words 'sustainbility' and 'resilience' are often used interchangably.  There is a robust scholarly debate over what the words mean and how they intersect.
  • The three pillars of sustainability are often given as the three Es -- Economic, Ecologic and Social Equity
  • Grafton, Doyne, Boromeo et al. (2019) define socio-ecological  resilience according to theree Rs -- Resistance, Recovery and Robustness
