A new edition of the Code of Federal Regulations is published annually. You can access earlier editions, going back to 1938 edition, in HeinOnline (see link in the box to the right).

If you are a public patron, you do have to be on campus to access this resource.

Code of Federal Regulations - govinfo
The official online version of the Code of Federal Regulations maintained by the United States Government Publishing Office. Previous annual editions of the CFR are available back to 1996.
Electronic Code of Federal Regulations (e-CFR)
The most current version of the Code of Federal Regulations, the e-CFR usually reflects administrative regulatory changes made within the last few days. Note that the e-CFR is not an official legal edition of the CFR.
Federal Register - govinfo
A digital collection of the Federal Register maintained by the United States Government Publishing Office. Coverage goes back to inception (1936).
Federal Register Collection - HeinOnline
Maintained by HeinOnline, includes the Federal Register and indexes going back to 1936. Access is in-library only for public patrons or through the off-campus portal for students, faculty and staff.
