Law Student Resources: Online Study Aids

This guide provides information on resources, particularly study aids, that are available in the library for law students.
Case briefs, outlines, video courses with practice questions, flashcards, and practice exams.

To Access: JD students automatically receive an email invite from Quimbee Support. If you need support with setting up your account, contact the library.
Note: If you have already purchased an individual account, you can contact Quimbee support to cancel the account and get a refund of any balance you paid.

To Access: Go to the Lexis Digital Library page and log in using your university credentials. You may also download the mobile app for iOS or Android, enter the library code (SJQUINNEY), and log in using your university credentials.

BARBRI Outlines on LexisNexis

BARBRI outlines are available through LexisNexis for all UBE subjects.


To Access: Go to the LexisNexis Law School page and log in using your law student credentials. From the home page, select Law School Resources under the Tools & Resources menu and select a topic from there.

West Academic Study Aids includes many popular study aid series, including: 

  • Black Letter Outlines, 
  • Exam Pro,
  • Legalines,
  • Sum and Substance (audio),
  • Hornbooks, and 
  • Nutshells.

AudioCaseFiles provides edited judicial opinions of the most commonly assigned cases for first and second year law students.  AudioCaseFiles are available in text and audio, including Rule of Law and Holding. 

The Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) provides:
  • over 1,000 interactive tutorials written by law professors, 
  • free casebooks 
  • subject outlines, and
  • podcasts on different legal topics.

To Access: Students are emailed an access code during orientation. Contact the library if you need help setting up your account.

Courtroom Cast has downloadable audio files of court opinions and videos of trials, hearings and oral arguments. Searchable by judge, jurisdiction, attorney, and witness.

To Access: Go to Courtroom Cast, click Login & Register, and then select the Sign Up button.
