The University of Utah defines first-generation students as students whose parent(s) or guardian(s) do not possess a bachelor's degree of four-year equivalent degree from a college or university within the US.
At the University of Utah, around 25% of our students are first-generation, and we are keenly aware of the challenges they face. Join us at the Marriott Library on April 14, 2023 from 10:00am to 3:00pm for a one-day conference to connect with other first-generation students; to share stories about the first-generation experience with our faculty; to learn best practices from our first-gen faculty and staff and hear their stories; to learn about campus resources, services, and spaces; and to strategize how we can work together to build a strong community of support for all first-generation students at the U.
