No known campus-wide analytical tools exist from which to retrieve dept-level publication data. Academic Analytics is available to main campus colleges, but not the School of Medicine. SciVal is available to the School of Medicine but does not provide campus-wide data. Dimensions offers individual author data but no dept-level metrics.
The two resources described here--Scopus and Web of Science--are currently licensed by the library and are available campus-wide. They provide campus-wide research impact data by broad discipline categories roughly equivalent to U of U academic departments. But respective research administrative staff would need to drill down to determine exact dept-level information and the research impact of the authors in the department.
