Serials encompass a variety of published materials. They are recurring publications which can be classified into to four different types:
Ulrich's Serials Directory can be used to identify which category the serial falls into. The directory also contains detailed information on each publication including ISSN, publisher, active publication years, frequency of publication, content type, etc.
