Professional Appraiser Organizations
In the United States there are several organizations that have established standards and guidelines for the professional appraiser. These professional associations provide the education and guidance necessary to establish appraising as a true profession. Please follow the links below to learn more about these associations and the field of professional appraising.

Organizations
- The Appraisal FoundationThe Appraisal Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of professional valuation, was established by the appraisal profession in the United States in 1987. Since its inception, the Foundation has worked to foster professionalism in appraising by establishing, improving, and promoting the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP);
- American Society of AppraisersThe American Society of Appraisers is an international organization of appraisal professionals and others interested in the appraisal profession. ASA is the oldest and only major appraisal organization representing all of the disciplines of appraisal specialists. The society originated in 1936 and incorporated in 1952. ASA is headquartered in the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area.
- Appraisers Association of AmericaThe mission and primary purpose of the Appraisers Association of America is to develop and promote standards of excellence in the profession of appraising through education and the application of the highest form of professional practice, which results in enhancing the visibility and standing of appraisers within the private and professional communities in which they serve.
- Appraisers National AssociationAppraisers National Association, a nonprofit association of appraisers, has provided the public and the membership with a resource for communication, education, and service to ensure continued emphasis on the principles and ethics of personal property appraising.
- International Society of AppraisersThe International Society of Appraisers (ISA) is a not-for-profit, member-driven association, formed to support our member needs and serve the public by producing highly qualified and ethical appraisers who are recognized authorities in professional personal property appraising. Our members include many of the country's most respected independent appraisers, consultants, estate liquidators, auctioneers, gallery owners, and dealers.
