eBook User Guide: Proquest Ebook Central (Previously known as EBL)
LibCentral [previously known as Ebook Library (EBL) and Ebrary]
Authentication
Ebook Central handles authentication differently than most of our other databases. For all databases, you will need to authenticate with the library's proxy server if you are not on campus by clicking on the 'Off-Campus Access' button or by entering your uNID and password when prompted. However, Ebook Central requires that you sign in an additional time before accessing their ebooks. This can be confusing, since EBL is one of very few databases that prompt you for your uNID and password even while on campus. Proquest also may ask you to sign in a second time while not on campus even if you are already authenticated. This is normal behavior - if you attempt to access an ebook and you recieve a prompt to log in with your uNID and password, make sure you try doing so at least twice in any given situation before contacting support - you may simply be trying to access an Ebook Central ebook. If you are being asked to sign in even after entering your uNID and password twice in a single session, you may want to contact us for support (see Need Help? for more information).
