Creating a Personal Account

In order to use the Bloomberg Professional Service, you need to have a personal Bloomberg Account.

First time users must register with Bloomberg and create a personalized login and password by following these instuctions:

1. Login to the Bloomberg terminal using your UNID User Name and Password

2. Double click on the icon for Bloomberg.

3. When prompted to login in, look for the link that says "create a new login". If you don't see it, look for the red <CONN DFLT> key on the Bloomberg Keyboard and press it. Then press the green <GO> key.  This should generate the "Create a new login" prompt.

4. Complete the registration forms. You will be prompted to enter your location, a corporate email address (please use your University email), and a telephone number (which is used for login validation).

Note: It is recommended that you provide a cell phone (mobile phone) number in order to receive the validation code immediately (within a few minutes). It will be sent via the phone or as a text message (based on your choice).

If you do not have a mobile phone, you can provide a landline number and you will also receive the validation code as an email. You have up to five days to log in to Bloomberg and input the validation code to complete the account creation process.

5. Once you have validated your account, you will be allocated a login name (which you may change if you do not like it). Please remember to write down the login information for your records.
