Equity Financing
Equity financing is the process of raising capital through the sale of shares. Both private and public companies raise money for short-term needs to pay bills or long-term projects by selling ownership of their company in return for cash. Below are the three types of equity financing and a book that discusses the process.
- Angel Investor is an early-stage investor in a startup. These investors provide seed money, usually in exchange for ownership equity in the company
- Venture capital (VC) is a form of private equity and a type of financing for startup companies and small businesses with long-term growth potential
- Private equity are investment partnerships where firms operate investment funds to buy and manage companies on behalf of institutional and accredited investors before selling them
