You might have seen this acronym in High School: CRAAP. It's a way of looking at a resource to determine of it's useful for your needs.
CRAAP stands for:
C - Currency - When was the information created? When was it last updated?
R - Relevance - How does the topic relate to the information? Is this a source that you could use as a reference?
A - Authority - Who created the information? Can we identify them? Can we see what else they've written, and why it is reasonable to consider this person someone to listen to?
A - Accuracy - Does the information connect to its sources? Can we see how the argument makes sense?
P - Purpose - What is this source trying to do? Is it making an argument? Is it trying to be objective? Does it have an agenda?
The CRAAP Test was developed by librarians at California State University, Chico
