College of Education: Library and Research Resources

When doing Research there are a variety of tools available through the Marriott Library to assist in the research process, such as support for citation management tools, qualitative and quantitative analysis tools. At the Knowledge Commons desk on the 2nd level of the library you can borrow technology tools such as laptops (if available), recording devices for interviews. As students you can install free Microsoft Office 365, and the Adobe Suite of applications for creating diagram, charts and images for your research. You can also use U Box and U Gdrive to store files and data as you conduct research

It is also recommended that you set up Researcher profiles and logins to common research tools to help you be more productive such as setting up:

• A Google Scholar profile and connect Google Scholar to the Marriott Library resources (directions and a video)
• Establish your researcher identity with an ORCID ID to help you track citations
• Web of Science ResearcherID is a global, multi-disciplinary scholarly research community. With a unique identifier assigned to each author in ResearcherID, you can eliminate author misidentification and view an author’s citation metrics instantly. Search the registry to find collaborators, review publication lists and explore how research is used around the world.
• By setting up an EBSCOhost account and a Scopus login (use your Unid institutional login) you can save searches
• Use your Unid login to also set up and use  UBox (I terabyte of storage space) and Utah Gdrive in the cloud  to organize, store and track research resources
