LGBT Health Organizations
- The Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists (AGLP) is an association of mental health professionals that educates and advocates on Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender mental health issues.
- The Gay & Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA) provides research, advocacy, and other information related to LGBT concerns. They advocate for the rights of LGBT people, and have started a variety of initiatives, including the Lesbian Health Fund, which funds research on a wide range of health issues, and (with the Human Rights Campaign Foundation) the Healthcare Equality Index, which evaluates healthcare facilities for equal and respectful treatment of LGBT patients and employees.
- The National Coalition for LGBT Health works to promote LGBT concerns by promoting affirming policies, conducting independent research, and partnering with other organizations to promote LGBT rights, including inclusive health care initiatives, LGBT partner visitation rights, and culturally competent health care. The Resources page includes useful position papers and information resources on areas such as health disparities, data collection, and the Affordable Care Act.
