- USPTO Design Search Code ManualThe Design Search Code Manual contains the principles of organizing and searching design elements, a searchable numeric classification that organizes design elements into three tiers: categories, divisions, and sections, and a Alphabetical Index of design elements, keywords, and their corresponding numeric coding.

The USPTO offers free assistance for inventors. Below are two assistance centers.
- USPTO Trademark Assistance CenterThe Trademark Assistance Center (TAC) is the main support center for all customers, from first-time filers to legal professionals and experienced trademark applicants. We can answer your questions on a variety of trademark topics.
- USPTO Public Search FacilityThe Public Search Facility (PSF) located in Alexandria, VA provides public access to patent and trademark information in a variety of formats including online, microfilm, and print. Trained staff are available to assist public users.
