STUDENTS: In-depth research support for you and your classmates is available via email or by means of a virtual consult.

FACULTY: Virtual support for your class or small groups is available. Fill out the Invite a Librarian to Teach form or email us directly --- we are happy to assist.

How do I request physical items?

Utah Asia Campus faculty and students may submit requests for books and other items in print and physical format held in the Marriott Library. If the physical materials are not currently available within the Marriott Library, they will be purchased (if available at a reasonable cost), added to the collection, and then shipped directly to the person requesting the item.  We cannot borrow books from other libraries to send to Korea. Requests will be denied for books that are unavailable or not obtainable for purchase at a reasonable cost.

  • Items can be checked out through your library account 
  • Items will be shipped to specified address 
  • Items include:
    • audiovisual materials and multimedia, such as DVD's, videogames, CD's, etc
    • microform materials, such as microfilm and microfiche
    • periodicals, such as newspapers, journal volumes/issues, and magazines

Note: physical items available in a digital format will have the digital format purchased in lieu of physical copies

How do I use Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services?​

What is Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery? 

  • Interlibrary Loan provides access to items such as books, newspapers, journal articles, dissertations, etc. from a wide variety of sources that are NOT available in the Marriott Library.
  • Document Delivery provides electronic access to journal articles and book chapters from the Marriott Library print collection.

Who can use Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services?​

Both students and faculty at the Utah Asia Campus are eligible for electronic delivery of journal articles and book chapters. 

How do I use Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services?​

Faculty Note:

  • Faculty at the University of Utah Asia Campus must possess the proper identification and University of Utah credentials to use these services. Faculty status will be identified by the University of Utah directory  or the University of Utah Asia Campus Faculty listing 

Shipping:

  • Shipping and delivery may take one to four weeks each way
  • Marriott Library will pay for delivery and return shipping
  • Returns: email mlib-circulation@lists.utah.edu with a list of titles needing customs clearance. 
    • a customs label will be created for faculty use
