Custom fields

Custom Fields Tab

The red circles with checkmarks mean that the patron can see that text when they go to book an appointment. To make a question required toggle on the required to red.

Customer Information

Under "Customer Information" I suggest only collecting the Customer email and unchecking the rest of the default options unless you really want to call or mail the patron something.

Custom Fields

Custom fields allow you to add your own questions to the Bookings form beyond the standard billing information that Microsoft wants to collect by default. This is great for asking patrons about what they want out of the research consultation before the appointment. Once you have created custom fields in one service type you can use them in other service types. Therefore, if you end up not using a custom field in one form, just uncheck it rather than deleting it completely.

To add a custom field click the "Add custom field" plus sign.

You can choose from two different question types from the drop down menu: Text question which is open response and Dropdown question which is multiple choice.

That being said, for now, all custom fields responses just show up together in a column in your data output so no matter what type of questions you ask you will still need to parse out the outputs.

Notifications tab

Email Confirmation

Here you should select the option to "Send a meeting invite to the customer, in addition to the confirmation email" in order to send a calendar invite to the patron.

You can also select to email the business, though chances are the business is you.

You can also add additional information to the email confirmation. For example, if you would prefer to send a pre-survey that way rather than or in addition to using the meeting sign-up form itself as a pre-survey via custom fields.

Email Reminders

These are emails you can send before the meeting to remind people about the meeting. There is text you can edit here as well.

Email follow-up

Here is where you can write a generic follow-up and link a post-survey that will be sent after the meeting. You can also include information about creating follow-up appointments here.
