Lesson 8 Objectives: Summarizing, Paraphrasing, & Quoting
The purpose of this lesson is to teach you the various ways in which you can borrow information from sources: summarizing, paraphrasing, and quoting. You will also learn how to properly cite borrowed information using in-text citations and signal phrases.
Students will be able to...
...describe the different steps of summarizing and paraphrasing.
…paraphrase a source by using a Resource Note Card method.
…use signal phrases to create paraphrases.
…create a list of synonyms for the verb to say.
