Search the Library Catalog for Women in Music

BASIC SEARCH:
  • The library catalog, USearch, can help you hone in on your research topic as you find materials that we have access to on campus.
  • You can use the Basic Search with keywords related to your topic or composer/performer/conductor:
    • EXAMPLE: Clara Schumann AND piano
    • EXAMPLE: Orchestra AND american women composers [searching the catalog does not require capitals]

ADVANCED SEARCH:
  • You can also use keyword combinations in the Advanced Search. But, you can also take advantage of SUBJECT HEADINGS and are part of the controlled vocabulary of the Library of Congress.

    • Choose "Subject" -- "is (exact) -- "feminism and music" -- Search:
